utoCAD Rotate Command
AutoCAD Rotate Command used to rotate object or geometry around a fixed point called base-point.
Find this icon in the modify toolbar or form the ribbon.
User will be to rotate object around a base point to the absolute angles.
The following steps are to be completed after activating the AutoCAD Rotate Command.
Select_object
This option need you to use object selection methods and press [Enter] when you are done.
Specify_base-point
Specify the desired point about which the object is rotated which means the selected point will be fixed.
Specify the rotation angle:
This option let you Enter angle values or specify coordinate point, or enter [c] for copy , or enter [r] for reference.
- Rotation_Angle:Determine how much objects rotate around a base-point. The axis of rotations pass through the specific base-point and parallel to Z axes of the current User Coordinate System.
- Copy:Create copies of selected object for rotations.
- Reference:Rotate object from specified angles to new, absolute angles. When you rotates a view-port objects, the border of the view-ports remains parallel to the edge of drawing canvas.
You may rotate object in drawings around a specified base-point.
To determine the angles of rotations, you may enter angle values, drag using cross-hair, or specify reference angles to aligns to absolute angles.
Enter rotation angle values from [0 to 360] degree. You may also enter values in radian, grad, or surveyor bearing. Entering positive angles values rotate the object counter-clockwise or clockwise, depending upon the base_angle direction settings in Drawing Unit setting box.
Rotate Objects by Dragging_
Drag objects around base_point and specify 2nd point. Ortho_mode, polar_tracking, or object_snap give you greater precision.
Example, you may rotate plan views of house by selecting object [1], specifying base_point [2], and specifying angles of rotations by dragging to another points [3].
Rotate Objects to Absolute Angles
With Reference options, you may rotate objects to align it to absolute angles.
Example, to rotate parts in the figure so diagonals edges rotate to 90 degree, you selects the object to rotate [1, 2], specify the base point [3], and enter Reference options. For reference angles, specify end-point of diagonals line [4, 5]. For new angle, enter (90).
Rotate Objects in 3-D
To rotate 3-D object, you may use [ROTATE] or [ROTATE3D].
- [ROTATE], you may rotate object around specific base-point. The axes of rotation pass through base-point and parallel to Zaxes of current User Coordinate System.
- [ROTATE3D], you may specify axes of rotation by specifying two points, X, Y,Z axes; or Z-direction of current views.
